Short answer
The daily loss limit resets at a fixed clock time, but that clock isn't always yours or your platform's. When Europe and the US change clocks on different weekends, the gap between the firm's reset and MetaTrader time can shift by an hour for a week. A trade you hold "until the reset" can be judged against the wrong day.
The US clock change took effect on 1 Nov 2026, so New York is UTC-5. FTMO's stated MetaTrader time is still GMT+3 until 2 Nov 2026.
FTMO
- The Maximum Daily Loss Limit is recalculated daily at 00:00 CE(S)T (Prague time), from the balance recorded at that moment. Equity (open P/L, swaps, commissions) can't drop below it. Source: FTMO Trading Objectives, read 31 Oct 2026.
- FTMO's 22 Oct 2026 trading update says MetaTrader time is GMT+3 until 2 Nov 2026 and GMT+2 after, and that between 26 Oct and 1 Nov 2026 the offset between Prague's midnight and MetaTrader's midnight is 2 hours instead of the usual 1. It suggests hovering over "Today's permitted loss" in Account MetriX for a countdown. Source: FTMO Trading Update, 22 Oct 2026, read 31 Oct 2026.
- What that means on the clock (worked from FTMO's stated times): Prague is on CET (UTC+1) now, so the reset is 23:00 UTC. That's 02:00 MetaTrader time this week and 01:00 MetaTrader time from 2 Nov.
FundedNext (CFD)
- The Daily Loss Limit resets at 00:00 server time. Server time is GMT+3 while daylight saving is active and GMT+2 the rest of the year, and the dashboard shows a countdown. Source: When does the Daily Loss Limit reset with FundedNext CFD? and What is FundedNext's server time?, both read 31 Oct 2026.
- What that means on the clock: midnight GMT+2 is 22:00 UTC; midnight GMT+3 is 21:00 UTC. FundedNext's pages don't name the switch date, so confirm it on the dashboard countdown.
Your local time
Example table, worked from the rules above.
| Firm | Reset in UTC (winter) | Manila / Singapore (UTC+8) | London (UTC+0 in winter) | New York (UTC-5 since 1 Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FTMO | 23:00 | 07:00 next day | 23:00 | 18:00 |
| FundedNext (server GMT+2) | 22:00 | 06:00 next day | 22:00 | 17:00 |
A 3-step check for clock-change weeks
- Find the firm's reset clock on its own rules page (Prague time, server time, or something else).
- Convert it to your local time for this exact week, not from memory, and set an alarm before it.
- Before you request a payout, run your history through a check that uses the firm's own reset and news windows.
